Have You Ever Had a Dream Come True? March 03 2015

Have you ever had a dream come true? Maybe you've started your own business, or created a piece of art, or conquered a fear, or traveled the world. If so, you're familiar with the feelings I'm having right now as I watch Green Man Cannabis Ranch & Amphitheater actually take shape.

The contributions and feedback received through the current Indiegogo campaign is another step on this journey that I've been on, and it is quite possibly the most exciting step. This is the step when all of you have joined me, you've shared your excitement through contributions, feedback, and spreading the word. This is the step where this project becomes no longer just mine, it become ours.

Like many of you who have watched dreams come to fruition, Green Man Cannabis Ranch & Amphitheater started for me as just a seemingly crazy idea. Becoming the creator of the world's first weedery wasn't what I dreamed of when I was a little kid. It wasn't remotely along the lines of what I thought I'd be doing when I grew up. In fact it wasn't until a couple years ago I had the idea for it, but I haven't stopped thinking about it since. I tested the idea, tossing it around with some friends, family members and colleagues, taking note of their reactions. To my great delight reactions were, though varied, for the most extremely supportive or constructive. I realized this really was a good idea.

I felt like a kid on Christmas morning when an architect first presented me with a draft of blueprints for the weedery and we started editing and exploring what if's and why not's and fine tuning the layout. Next came the creation of the physical model of Green Man Cannabis Ranch & Amphitheater. This idea, this dream I tossed around with friends over a beer just months before, was now tangible -- it was something I could touch, feel and share with others. Now others had access to my vision. The more I saw this dream take shape and I received feedback from others, the more I knew this venue had to be created. There was no other option.

To all of you have already participated in the Indiegogo campaign through contributions or spreading word about the campaign, I want to sincerely thank you. To those who have not had time to look into the campaign, it will continue to be live until March 11th. Please feel free to share ideas, questions, concerns, and excitement with me -- I appreciate any and all feedback.

Behind the Scenes of the Legal Marijuana Business January 15 2015

Founder Christian Hageseth gets candid about unique entrepreneurial pursuit in upcoming book

If you’re like many Americans, especially those in the great state of Colorado, you may have found yourself intrigued by the notion of the legal marijuana industry and even flirted with the idea of getting involved yourself. You may be asking yourself a number of questions, including:

  • How does one get involved in the legal marijuana industry
  • What type of people are in this industry?

  • What kind of background or skill sets are required?

  • Where is this industry going?

  • How would I navigate the various laws and restrictions?

  • What are the benchmarks of success in this type of business?

  • Is there a place for me the world of legal marijuana?

If this sound’s like you, you’re not alone. In fact you are in great company. Currently there are wheels spinning in many great minds, attempting to break into this world, refine a business plan, or just predict out where the heck we will be in 5 years. There are so many how’s, what-if’s, and why’s in this industry, it is still yearning for leaders to take the reins.

Through his book “Big Weed: An Entrepreneur’s High-Stakes Adventures in the Budding Legal Marijuana Business” (Macmillan, April 2015), entrepreneur Christian Hageseth recounts the journey (equal parts hilarious, heartwarming, and stress-inducing) that led him to spearhead one of the most successful legal marijuana operations in America, Green Man Cannabis, and bring his vision of the world’s first weedery to life through Green Man Cannabis Ranch & Amphitheater.

If you’re one of the many people interested in the inner workings of the legal marijuana industry, looking for a new entrepreneurial adventure, or simply want an excellent read, Christian Hageseth’s “Big Weed” is a great place to start. The book will be available for purchase the week of April 20, 2015, but you can preorder your copy now, and be sure to see what Amazon Vine reviewers are saying about it:

"Christian Hageseth has a real nice writing style that I really enjoyed. I literately read the book from cover-to-cover in a couple of days."
