Have You Ever Had a Dream Come True? March 03 2015

Have you ever had a dream come true? Maybe you've started your own business, or created a piece of art, or conquered a fear, or traveled the world. If so, you're familiar with the feelings I'm having right now as I watch Green Man Cannabis Ranch & Amphitheater actually take shape.

The contributions and feedback received through the current Indiegogo campaign is another step on this journey that I've been on, and it is quite possibly the most exciting step. This is the step when all of you have joined me, you've shared your excitement through contributions, feedback, and spreading the word. This is the step where this project becomes no longer just mine, it become ours.

Like many of you who have watched dreams come to fruition, Green Man Cannabis Ranch & Amphitheater started for me as just a seemingly crazy idea. Becoming the creator of the world's first weedery wasn't what I dreamed of when I was a little kid. It wasn't remotely along the lines of what I thought I'd be doing when I grew up. In fact it wasn't until a couple years ago I had the idea for it, but I haven't stopped thinking about it since. I tested the idea, tossing it around with some friends, family members and colleagues, taking note of their reactions. To my great delight reactions were, though varied, for the most extremely supportive or constructive. I realized this really was a good idea.

I felt like a kid on Christmas morning when an architect first presented me with a draft of blueprints for the weedery and we started editing and exploring what if's and why not's and fine tuning the layout. Next came the creation of the physical model of Green Man Cannabis Ranch & Amphitheater. This idea, this dream I tossed around with friends over a beer just months before, was now tangible -- it was something I could touch, feel and share with others. Now others had access to my vision. The more I saw this dream take shape and I received feedback from others, the more I knew this venue had to be created. There was no other option.

To all of you have already participated in the Indiegogo campaign through contributions or spreading word about the campaign, I want to sincerely thank you. To those who have not had time to look into the campaign, it will continue to be live until March 11th. Please feel free to share ideas, questions, concerns, and excitement with me -- I appreciate any and all feedback.

Sincerely,
Christian Hageseth

CEO and Chairman of Green Man Cannabis

Utah Senator Mark Madsen Visits Green Man Cannabis February 17 2015

This past weekend I had the pleasure of showing Senator Mark Madsen of Utah and his wife Erin one of Green Man Cannabis' grows and a dispensary. Mark is an open-minded, lawmaker who trusts his constituents to make choices for themselves and believes the states not the Feds should decide policy on this issue.

Sen. Madsen and his wife came to Denver, to Green Man Cannabis, to learn about medical marijuana before casting judgement. I love the open-mindless of this man, a Republican and a Mormon, willing to see the potential benefits rather than believe what he's been told about marijuana. We need more people like him representing us.

Week 1 Update: Indiegogo Campaign February 16 2015

Airplane graveyard
Week one of the Green Man Cannabis Ranch & Amphitheater
Indiegogo campaign for the world's first weedery has come to a close and we want to extend a sincere "Thank you!" to all of you who were among the first to contribute. We appreciate your contribution and are so happy that it automatically enrolls you as a Foundation Member of Green Man Cannabis Ranch & Amphitheater. You will receive more information about the Foundation Member program along with your selected reward once the campaign wraps up.

This past week marked an important step in the weedery creation process. A  of this week almost all of the airplanes have been removed from the site, which has served as an airplane graveyard for years. Luckily the mild weather we've experienced in Denver this winter has allowed us to move fairly quickly on this removal process. Once the removal of all planes and debris from the location has wrapped up, the ground can be prepped and then we just wait for it to thoroughly thaw and we'll start digging!

Thanks for your support and if you haven't had a chance to contribute yet there's still plenty time - the campaign is live until March 11, 2015.

UPDATE: Indiegogo is the way to go! February 06 2015

Everyone, thank you so much for your patience while we've been gearing up for our crowd funding campaign. We finally have an update for you: Kickstarter has refused our campaign. You read that right. So what does this mean?

It means we're taking our campaign over to the good folks at Indiegogo and will be launching next week! Unfortunately it also means our industry is still facing scrutiny and stigma despite the strides that have been made! Yet another example of how important it is that we continue to raise awareness and understanding around this legal and prosperous industry, and create opportunities to celebrate it, such as Green Man Cannabis Ranch & Amphitheater.

We're more determined than ever to launch this project and in doing so welcome the world to the first weedery, but also make a statement about the legalization and liberalization of marijuana.

Through Indiegogo we'll be offering all of the same rewards - both merchandise and experiences - as originally planned, and we hope you'll continue to show your support. It's greatly appreciated! We'll have another update on Monday.

Have a great weekend!

Behind the Scenes of the Legal Marijuana Business January 15 2015

Founder Christian Hageseth gets candid about unique entrepreneurial pursuit in upcoming book

If you’re like many Americans, especially those in the great state of Colorado, you may have found yourself intrigued by the notion of the legal marijuana industry and even flirted with the idea of getting involved yourself. You may be asking yourself a number of questions, including:

  • How does one get involved in the legal marijuana industry
  • What type of people are in this industry?

  • What kind of background or skill sets are required?

  • Where is this industry going?

  • How would I navigate the various laws and restrictions?

  • What are the benchmarks of success in this type of business?

  • Is there a place for me the world of legal marijuana?

If this sound’s like you, you’re not alone. In fact you are in great company. Currently there are wheels spinning in many great minds, attempting to break into this world, refine a business plan, or just predict out where the heck we will be in 5 years. There are so many how’s, what-if’s, and why’s in this industry, it is still yearning for leaders to take the reins.

Through his book “Big Weed: An Entrepreneur’s High-Stakes Adventures in the Budding Legal Marijuana Business” (Macmillan, April 2015), entrepreneur Christian Hageseth recounts the journey (equal parts hilarious, heartwarming, and stress-inducing) that led him to spearhead one of the most successful legal marijuana operations in America, Green Man Cannabis, and bring his vision of the world’s first weedery to life through Green Man Cannabis Ranch & Amphitheater.

If you’re one of the many people interested in the inner workings of the legal marijuana industry, looking for a new entrepreneurial adventure, or simply want an excellent read, Christian Hageseth’s “Big Weed” is a great place to start. The book will be available for purchase the week of April 20, 2015, but you can preorder your copy now, and be sure to see what Amazon Vine reviewers are saying about it:

"Let Hageseth take you on an exciting journey of our country’s awakening!"

"This book is a quick and enjoyable read that makes me want to get up and head for Colorado and open up a business."

"It’s informative and suspenseful. And of course it makes one think that maybe they can do it too. If you are like me you will want to read all about it from someone who is living the dream. I found this to be an excellent book."

"His visionary stance at the end may even bring tears to your eyes, as it did mine."

"Christian Hageseth has a real nice writing style that I really enjoyed. I literately read the book from cover-to-cover in a couple of days."

What is the World's First Weedery? January 06 2015

What is a Weedery?

Many people have been asking us, “What is a weedery?” Great question. Why? Because a weedery has never existed before in history. Green Man Cannabis Ranch & Amphitheater will serve as the world’s very first weedery. A historical step forward in the legalization, liberalization and celebration of marijuana. Like a brewery or a winery, but for legal marijuana, the weedery will give the public the unique opportunity to tour an award-winning state of the art marijuana grow facility, listen to live music at the outdoor amphitheater, and enjoy a meal at the on-site bar and restaurant. All while enjoying sweeping views of the Colorado Rockies.

For years, the cultivation of marijuana has been shrouded literally and figuratively in a haze of smokescreens, serving as a magnificent though illegal example of horticultural art, study, and science. Colorado has led the way in slowly but surly bringing legal marijuana cultivation out of the basement and into the light, and through the weedery Green Man Cannabis has the unique opportunity to share the realities, the processes, and the people behind one of the country's most successful legal marijuana companies. Guests have the rare opportunity to tour the facility, led by highly knowledgeable and experienced staff, and gain a better understanding of the behind the scenes marijuana process, from grow to dispensary.

"The Cannabis Ranch is my chance to normalize marijuana, to bring it to the world on such a scale that it cannot be ignored,” says Christian Hageseth, founder of Green Man Cannabis Ranch & Amphitheater, in his upcoming book Big Weed (published by Macmillan, April 2015).

Of the weedery’s tour, the book quotes Hagaseth as saying, “Our visitors will be embarking on a journey that mimics America’s own journey of enlightenment. As they move from the basement, they’re leaving marijuana’s past behind. When they enter the greenhouse, they’ll be looking at the future. From the closet out into the open. From the darkness into the light.”

To put it simply, the weedery is history in the making.
